I have just returned from England I was in action with Murray when we made the charge on Horse back on the Morel Wood I wasn't any more than twelve yards away from the spot your son fell The enemy got a direct aim on him with machine gun fire he was riddled with machine bullets. he died a real hero. we went into Action with 135 men & Horses strong. "B" Squadron and came out with 20 men & 10 Horses "I" myself was one of the lucky ones. you are aware your son won the D.C.M. in Action in The trenches January & February18. when applying for your money don't forget to draw their attention to same as there is money Coming to you. OS. R.C.D. will explain to you how and where you will get this money. the RCD regiment is expected back in Toronto on or about the first week in May.
