Dear Mother:-

I dropped you a card a few days ago but I haven't written you since I left Witley. I can't tell you where I am or what I'm doing but I am O.K. and so please don't worry about me.

I may go farther up the line soon but I may not get to the actual front for a long time. Until I do, though, I won't have any fixed address so you will just have to write to my old one and they will forward it. Or else write to my number and name, Exquiry Section, Can. Records Office, Green Arbour House, Old Bailey, London. And they will forward it. I have got several letters that way and, if anything, they come quicker. But as soon as I get my address, I'll let you know it.

The French I learned at school doesn't do me much good here. They pronounce it so funny and different from the way we were taught.

Will close now.

Lovingly
Ludlow
