Dear Mother:- am taking some time to write you another letter I hope to write quite a few but do not know when we will go "up the line" it will be soon I expect they only stay here a short time so they say. Some that came in with us are going on up to-morrow so our turn may be any day. I don't want you to spoil your Christmas worrying over me. I'll take good care of myself. We meet lots of men who have been up several times In fact I sleep in the same tent with some of them most of them are very cheerful chaps I just had a shave and a wash. the first since I left Shornecliffe. Wed untill Sat. night it was a great relief I can tell you. We had very little sleep for three nights. But I am going to make up for it to-night There is Church parade to-morrow so it will not be so hard Our grub is not so bad as it was in England. We are at the Canadian base at present. I am sending Addie, Edith and the boys a post card as I thought a letter would suit you better alough I cannot say what I would like. but I can tell it later on I'll write again before we go if I get time. Well good By and Best Wishes

Earl.
