Dear friend. how are you getting along. We are all well hoping Yous lads are the same I have been shocking oats all day and have got to do the same thing to-morrow We will be half done cutting to-morrow night if it keeps dry so that is so much to the good Ha Ha. Well the other half wont cut for a week or 2 yet so we will have a rest in between Eh.

The phone men were here a while ago fixing our phone which went wrong We couldnt ring it so it wouldnt be much good that way. Well I was back to Elimville last night and Uncle Wess and and Aunt Beccy and Lida and Edith were gone to out to our place so I wasnt much farther ahead Eh. Ha Ha.

Well I received your letter letter last week and was glad to hear from you Elva is down at St thomas this last 2 weeks and is going to stay another week but I guess I neednt waste ink telling you that as she will have told you in better language than I could tell you. Charlie Godbolt sold his farm to Tom Bell so things will be changed when you come back. I seen Earl Parsons down their with Ethel Brown he is a great fellow.

Tell Elmer I will write him to-morrow or the next day tell him we got the Badges and shrapnel alwright Edith brought up the badges and I got the shrapnel when I was down it is hellish looking stuff I would hate to get hit with it and I hope yous fellows dont.

Well as it is after nine oclock I guess I will close, write when convenient

Good bye from Garnet
