Camp Hughes

Sept 19/16

Dear Mother & Dad:-

Recieved parcel from Jalden o.k. & was jake to get it as this stuff doesn't taste good after being home for a month. Arrived in camp o.k. but it has been beastly cold for the last two days but it has warmed up considerably the last days & hope it stays this way. From what I can learn & from good sorce this Battalion expects to leave in about three weeks so if you still intend getting me out you will have to start right away. We have our over-seas kit inspection on Saturday & believe me they are drilling us pretty stiff now. Floyd is out on his harvest leave so I guess he isn't going over with the unit that is leaving soon. The 107, 100 & 144th left last week & the 96 & 152nd are going next. We may go to Bermuda & if we do we will be there for a year & will not likely be any fighting.

Have a note to send Bea so must get busy. Am in good health hope all are the same.

Your Loving Son

Roy.
