Dear Mother:-

Received your welcome letter the other day dated Aug 25th and was very glad to hear from you. We are having lovely weather here now, but tiw as very cold and wet the first week we were here.

I was to see Eddie McPhail and George Stanley the other night. Where in Hell next will Fred end up at he will soon have tried all kinds of work imaginable.

If they should happen to get him in the soldiers they will give him a job he won't be able to leave till they were good and ready to let him go. You were asking me if I wanted socks, I have the two pair yet you gave me when I went in the soldiers.

Well I guess I will have to close for this time hoping you are all well as it leaves me at present. Write Soon.

Good Bye

Allan.
