Dec. 5/44

Dear Folks,

Well I have been back on the squadron for two weeks now and you have no idea how good it is to be back in harness again. There has been quite a bit of new stuff come in since I was here last and I have been busy getting ginned up on that. As you know I only fly with strange crews whose bomb aimer is sick or gets a piece of flak up his kilt. So far I have been lucky enough to get in two trips and believe I'll get a tour finished with yet. We did jobs on Hagen and Karlsrube and the latter was really a good prang-bags of fires and all that, a marvelous sight, only from 18000.

I've had a Christmas parcel from Eileen and also a carton of cigs. The K.W.W.W. party have also sent me a parcel for which I am thanking them for. Now that the cold weather, and I do mean cold, is here, those eats are going to go down pretty good in the huts at night. Received a letter from Vernon a couple of days ago and it seems as if he has really grown up.

The boys over here are getting quite a kick out of the doings that are going on back home. Our only wish is that we could have a chance to use a little persuasion on those zombies.

Haven't sent any Xmas cards away yet so am going to be pretty busy the next couple of days. Well my dear ones that's all the news for now so goodbye till next time.

Love,
George
