My dear Marjorie & Hugh,

Feel I must write you a few lines... how are you all? I hope your boys are safe and well.
We are heart-broken. Our youngest boy - Cyril, was reported as missing, believed killed on August 28th (his birthday). He was a sergeant gunner on a Lancaster Bomber. It was a raid on Nuremburgh, Germany. Your son Jimmy met him while he was sitting for his exams at Baton,
The eldest boy is safe and well in N. Africa. The girls are all well and still in the Forces. Betty - the youngest whom Jimmy met, is in the WAAF., she is in the Operational Room of an Airdrome. Olive is in the ATS. (in Wimbledon, London). She is a Special Duties GP. and attached to the War Office.
We have been wondering where Jimmy is now? I think we owe him a letter. Did Jimmy tell you that Betty lost her boy-friend who was a Pilot/Officer on a Bomber?
Hope Hugh is keeping well! Give him a hug and kiss for me. Again, hoping you are all quite well. Fond love from all and God Bless You -

With love,

Ethel
