My Dearest Betty:-

I am leaving for France in the morning Dec 6th, it seems strange to be going back again, but it will be a great deal better than the trenches & the work will be much more congenial, I will write & tell you all about it at the earliest opportunity.

In the meantime darling do not worry - take all that comes as for the best, still trust & pray that all will yet be well - if I cannot get home to Canada I would much rather be over in France doing some good for the boys - for God knows they have it hard enough.

I have never heard anything about your application from the authorities so I guess it has not been successful. Write to me often & address your letters to Bella.

I do hope dear that things are going fairly well with you & that you & Billy are keeping better, and I trust you will have a happy Xmas. Must close now I have so much to do, will write as often as possible & will let you have a permanent address as soon as settled God bless you all my darlings & keep you in His own care. Love - hugs & kisses to my dearest wife & kiddies

Yours lovingly
Daddy
