Dear Betty:-

Have just received papers from Frank & expect to be with you some tome about the weekend perhaps not before Sunday. I expect to be getting leave until the 20th of September & as Frank has no man I guess I'll turn in & help him.

I shall be paying my own way out, as the ticket they issue from there is by the shortest route, which is by Brandon so that I would not be in Wp'g at all - so I'll have to make up our Railway Fare anyway in work. Will stay in the City a day or two so we will not be rushed &likely will go up to Strathclair Tuesday or Wednesday - Find out what time the trains go & write Ruby accordingly so they will meet us

Am still feeling a little rocky & doing nothing which is getting wearysome,

Best love Will.

It is quite possible in fact very probably that the Battalion will not come back to Camp Hughes but that all the men out on harvest leave will be instructed to report in Wp'g = it is also reported on good authority that our Battalion is to proceed Overseas about the middle of October - that is why I want us to be together as much as possible now, Of course I am placing no reliance in rumours, but things are beginning to look as though we may get an early move - we sent some of our officers to the front the other night.
