Toronto

Dear Mother.

Your card came to-night. I had just come in from a long route march up through the city. We passed along Queen St. and I saw Aunt Florrie and the baby in the window. They saw me too. I was up there last night for supper and Anna Martin was there. I suppose you will look for me Saturday night I can't come as for all our company has to go uptown Sat. night for guard. They have a guard uptown every night now of 250 men and all C Co. passes have been cancelled. I don't know whether to come next week end or wait till next pay day. I guess we will have a big field day to-morrow out at nigh park. I am glad the sale came off all right but I don't see what you had to sell. When I was up to Aunt Florrie's last night I took a little pin of the 95th for Grace. Be sure and send me another box soon and if you should have had chicken why put in some chicken sandwiches. I had a letter from Violet the other day I hope she comes over at the end of the month. Well I guess I will close now as there isn't much to say. Love to all.

Your Son Jay.
