Dear Mother:-

I received your letter Saturday. I hope a hope a box comes soon. This afternoon we were out on a long route march all afternoon. How is Art's measles? I hope they are all over a week from Saturday as I will try and be home then. I had intended to go up to Aunt Florrie's to-night for supper but then it was snowing and blowing when we got back and I was also pretty tired. I wrote to Violet the other day. I got that box on Sunday just after church parade and I sure did enjoy it and also the boys that sleep in the same alleys as I do. But be sure and send some of those oatmeal ones with figs inside. If you haven't any figs or dates why put raisins in. I don't suppose there is any skating now. I wonder if Violet will be able to come over when she is payed again. I have just come from the other part of the grandstand where the Y.M.C.A. have moving pictures and singing every night I guess. I think Arthur Moyer was home last Saturday I suppose you saw him. Well I think this is all I can think of now. I will have to go back to barracks and fix up my little bunk. Love to All.

Your son Jay.
