Dear Mother:

Received your letter of the 20th last night or rather this morning as it was five o-clock when we got in from a working party and found it waiting for me. Two nights ago I got a box from Aunt Olive with a swell pair of socks which Mable knit. I have not received any of those Christmas boxes yet but am looking for them every night. I hope you had them addressed to B. Coy. I certainly think mother that you are doing your share as far as boxes and comforts are concerned. I am surely a very lucky boy. I wrote to Aunt Olive after receiving her box. I will close now with lots of love to all at home.

Your loving son,

P.S. Have sent you a little Xmas present in the shape of a brooch.

Jay.
