My dear Sister & Bro,

I guess you will be surprised to hear from me after such a long time. It must be nearly a year since I heard from you although you still owe me a letter but still we will call it square.

Well I am very pleased to hear that you both, also baby, are getting along alright. I get a letter about every two weeks from Ma. She sent your last two letters on to me to read so I sent them on to Bro Joe. I had a letter from him this week. Very glad to say he is alright. Of course we can't say much in our letters, mostly about the weather.

It certainly will be a good thing when this job is finished. Most of the boys seem to think it will be over this year but it is hard to say yet until things get busy which will be this next month. I don't see how it can last much longer on account of the grub although we get fed pretty good. But it's the people that feel it. I tell you it's the last army I will ever join, although my experiences in this one have been somewhat great. I can think myself mighty lucky coming through so far without a scratch to what some of the boys got.

Well if things go pretty good why I won't have to go back to France again on account of so many conscripts coming across. I tell you I don't care if I ever see France again as it is not very healthy out there these times.

Say Jim, Dave Travis went back to Canada last month. He wasn't wounded but it's his nerves, shook up pretty bad.

There is a lot of the boys in France get on the railroad Batt.

Well my dear, I should very much like us all to meet in old Moose Jaw again. We certainly would have some time I tell you but cheerio, I don't think it will be long. I don't think there is any more news to report on this front. Trusting these few lines will find you all in the best of health as it leaves me the same.

With fondest love,

From Bro Sid
