Dear Mother: .
I thought that I had better take time out and write you a letter. We finally caught a train in Regina I think that it was the last section. The first two sections were so crowded that we couldn't get a seat at all so we waited for the last section. They had to run 2 buses out here on Sunday as there was such a crowd. We haven't been doing an awful lot of flying lately but we have been studying for exams like mad. I am getting worried about passing this course as I am beginning to find out that I don't know a lot about it. We are being held over a week on account of the poor flying weather so r may get 10 days at Christmas I hope. One half of our barrack block isquarantined for mumps as there; sums to be quite an epidemic of them going around. We may get quarantined ourselves but I hope not.

They are going to build a swimming pool here as a matter of fact they have started to build it already. Bird construction is building it and it supposed to be worth about $3000 so it should be all right but then I won't be here to enjoy it. I think I stand a good chance of going to Regina for A.O.S if it stays there for a while. I saw Bob Cowsely in MooseJaw and he asked me for Melville's address so I am going to drop him a line and send it to him. Those shoes of mine are still pretty hard to get on but I am gradually getting around to the system of it. I thought that you were going to send a fruit cake around Wednesday, that other one was really good even if I did get only one piece of it. I guess that is all for now.
