Dear Mary & Girls & boys

We came down to shoot on these ranges Tuesday morning through a heavy rain to stay in tents we put the wet floor in it is in four peaces like peaces of pie our Shoes and cloths were soaked. I take pills and eat as much as I can about 6 times a day. old Soldiers drive in with tea and cakes. I have been able to keep a little for each day this time but did not get paid to day hope we get it to night. it has been very wet except to day but I am feeling fine except a little cold some are almost all in with cold & Rumaticks. I would have been but for eating a lot of hot cakes and tea I think I have eat 10S worth since Teusday. Some of our 125 are have Smallpox so they think we may have to stay a few days longer but we were to go back on Wednesday. this place is 7 miles from Bramshott. I have done good enough might just as well for if a fellow does not he has to shoot over & over again some have tried to fail by shooting bad but they take them anyway. I did not get your letter untill 15/28 it was a welcome pleasure I can tell you. it make me feel free & easy to hear you

Well my dear I have been thinking off a number of names but have not made a choice as yet except I do like Mary Belle and Will or Wm Billie but your choice will be the best honey. hope it's all over before you feel it honey you brave little giant it is fine to think the kidds are so close to school. they can get home in a second glad our folks are in that house of Lottles. I have not much more to write. hope none of my letters are oppened by the Sencors one of our fellows letter was oppened they do not say anything unless you say something about when the troops are going to be moved you talk all you like about the country or the people this fellow Waters is sitting opposit me he looks like Mrs Willis[?] when he was younger has glasses cent hit the target at all but he says he is doing fine he would make a dog laugh I laugh a great deal over his off hand ways. glad to hear Don is going after things & all the kidds are good I am going to see you all again some sweet day. And My dear I want to see you. do not pass out over my family affairs. Your life would have been happy if broader minded or more gifted I should have been so we will try & give our kidds a chance which will make a great home

My love XXXXXXX Roy
