Dear Wife & boys & girls

Will talk to you again this way

it is very muddy here now. have to weay these big rubbers. I may not be able to post this to day. but will try. I am on duty to day for a little while & found a bone handle jacknigh will try & sell it for 2 S if I can and post this I have been making a few D.S buying and selling I bought a wristwatch for a S. sold it for 2 S. bought a coin(?) for 4D sold it for 10D a girl in London gave a swagger stick sold them for 12 pennys. I would like if you can make the people keep you paid up their and send me a couple of lbs I want to buy a milk cart in London or some large city and sell buttermilk & sweet milk if the was is going to last another year that is the way I am going to stay around in this country I think I can buy one for 3 or 4 lbs with cans their are a great number of men pushing around milk carts with milk so I think I could get one second hand for that much some of them are quite fancy with shiney brass tops they have the funny'st peddlers ovel shape same size at the top as the bottom no spout & no measure but I see some quart bottles around it is hard to get along on the money we are getting Williams Foster & a lot of others brought 8 or 9 lbs Williams had 10 lbs and has his wife send him a little sum now & again Partridge is haveing his wife send him some but I may be able to get along We may be here 4 or 5 months I here Lt. Daves was caught & taken to Toronto with 7 others do you know anthing about it

We have had a great amount of rain this last 2 days. I was down to a little town Hazelmere I saw a card of our camp huts I will get some & send in a letter if not this one. I do not know if their are more mail boat than two carring mail across the pond if not you must get them in bunches these huts we live in are about 75 ft long there are 40 of us in our it gets very foul before morning last night we were called out because the zebbs were over England they got a phone saying they brought down one with fourty men on. & the reason they have not been bringing them down they were afraid of the bombs. the zebbs go near us here on the way to London but I could not see any. was 7 around last night. they say we do not get any pay untill the 17th that will be making me go a quite a while without but I will need to save if I do all I am thinking about You know I want to see my kiddies again. the old country is not any better to you than I am if I am an old Crank
