Dear little Wife I am feeling better but I have hurt my knee hope it will not last long I throwed a fellow coming down on my knee it is getting worse all day we got the destroyers at dawn today swift little boats with a lot of Guns weare going good now will be in tomorrow night. My I do not know how I could have got a long in the 3rd class we are lucky to be in here 2nd class good cushions and setting room bunks we have a good conscert every night Marguerite are you taking good care of Ruth and playing with the kiddies next door I hope you can write me every little while. I think about you all hope you are all well. Don have you wore out your overalls yet I can see you fixing your tent and shooting your bow & arrow Stanley you with your black head overalls on going after the mail & things getting dressed last in the mornings you will be a big man some day Jack & Bruce playing under the trees quarreling over the swing how are your overalls they looked good on you little kiddies playing in the water My little Ruth have you got over looking like me hope you have. can you say Mother yet hope you can talk good. Wish you could write lots all of you I do not know how much stamps will cost if you address to the

will get to me all write hope you have sent lots it is the very best when you are seasick and gloomy tired. I wish I could write something worth while we look funny walking with our life belts on they had the alarm yesterday we got out very good but we were slow going up stairs. I had to fall in just now had a lecture on training. Williams and Foster have been very seasick he Williams is laying in his bunk yet he has wrote 20 pages to day some men are writing long dry letters has the picture of his little kids picture siting by his side. oh I saw a whale come up to the surface to blow big black spot but it did not show its head out just one fin. We get steamed potatoes they look yellow like sulpher the porage is grain of some kind smells like the wet boats but the bread is home made butter is great soup is good some days we have mutton & good Jam [?] cabbage but most things smell like the boat Some nights I get so dizy I cant sleep so I get up and go down the alley past the guard & get some of the hot buns & butter last night I gave the guard one the day we had to go on guard I was sick the whole mob was on guard now we have 100 men with rifels and bayonets with cartridges supper bell has gone I go in at first sitting so I will have to go XXX We have supper at 4 30 pm meals at 7 11.30 430 up in 3rd class you can get cheese & sea buiskets coffee at 7 pm I did not go up to night I went into our dining room we have a bunch of A.M.Cs from Calgary who gave us a dandy conscert it made me think of my Mary. I heard that these boats are great new Sule destroyers made lately for Sules it makes things feel safer with them in front of each troop boat excuse writing we will be getting off tomorrow will write again at noon bye bye kiddies & my kind gentle Mary
