Aug. 17 - 29 -

Had a real good rest during my two weeks at the camp. Went into Boulogne on two or three occasions and went out on the beach there where many people were enjoying a sunny p.m. It rained very little during my stay but on the last night of my leave, a severe rain and wind storm came up and flooded or blew down many of the tents. Some ships in the harbour suffered, also hospital tents. Returned to Les Brebis on evening of Aug. 29. Learned that many had been gassed at guns.
