Tues. May 1 -

Another dandy day. Time put in improving position what we can and firing occasionally in response to S.O.S. calls. In afternoon, I got permission to go back to wagon lines and there I bought nearly 40 francs worth of eats for the six of us. We now have extras on hand to supplement rations which are often very short. It was a long walk and I was tired when I got back but it was well worth the trouble.
