Dear Lilian:

It's your turn for a letter I suppose. I have two of yours dated Feb 8 and 14. Thanks very much for the Munsey. the parcel from Aunt Bessie hasn't come yet so I think that it has been kept in France. I don't care if some of my old platoon got it.

No. 3 company finished their course yesterday and they have gone away on seven days leave to buy their outfit. Then they will go to their reserve battalions as officers. I guess by the way things are going at the front, some of them will soon have an opportunity of putting into practice what they learned here.

The papers today dont give a very encouraging report. The Germans claim 25 000 prisoners and 400 guns captured and our official report almost admits it.

I haven't had any photos taken since I left Canada, only some post card snaps and the one I sent Isabel (not Elsie) as Aunt Sarah said was one like I sent you from France.

We held our second dance last night. About 150 people were there and it was a big success. We had the place decorated with flags and ferns. Each lady received with her program a little bunch of violet and a small bow of the company colors, red and black.

We started baseball yesterday afternoon. Football is nearly over.

Today is fine and very warm. I went for a walk before lunch, but the sun is so hot this afternoon that I stayed in and wrote my notes up to date.

This short letter will have to do as there isn't any news.

Lovingly,

Reg.
