Dear Kiddo-

I write these few lines hoping to find you all well, as it leaves me at present, I was awfully worried about baby being worse when I read your letter, which I received this morning, but I hope by this time, she is better, I was glad to hear that Mary was better, tell them when daddy comes home, he will bring them something nice if he has the money to buy something with, when the war is over, which I hope, will not be long I suppose you was surprised when you got my last letter, and found that we were somewhere near the front, I was talking to Beggie Wicksey last night, aslo Lance Beynan, so it is not so bad after all, when there is somebody around that you know, I got a letter from Clara, today at the same time that I got yours, and in it she tells me, that it was extremely hot in Toronto, the hottest its been for fifty years no wonder the children have been so sick I guess by this time, Tommy and Arnold will be in England, I hope they spend a little longer time there, than I did, I was glad you liked the card I sent you, I would send you something from here, only I don't know, wether I would be allowed to or not, I am going to see about that, thank you for the Maple buds you say you are sending, I shall be glad when I get them as we can scarcely get any good chocolates here, and the much talked of Y.M.C.A. and the S.A. huts, are no great shakes here the ones I have seen anyway, well I wont grumble to much, but we realy have roughed it this last week, well I guess I must close my letter now, so ta-ta for the present, from Your Loving Husband Herbert
