On Active Service

Dear Ona & Levi,

Received your letter of July 3rd a few days ago and was glad to hear from you.

I also got the parcel last night and am having a fine time eating it. I enjoyed it greatly. Thanks very much for the same.

The dried herring were dandy. The dates and raisins were good eating.
I got a letters from Mother and Steve a few days ago. I got a parcel from Jenny London about two weeks ago.

I am well at present and feeling fine.

No I have not done any fighting yet, but have made two trips on the line now.

I think there is about a dozen of the Dunnville boys in the 19th.
Hope you enjoy farming and hope Margaret and you all well and enjoying life.

I think I will close for this time. Thanking you for the parcel.
