Dear Frank

I rec your letter the other day and was very pleased to hear from you. So you are busy summer following. I guess or the time you get this you will be harvesting. I read in the papers that harvest help was going to be scarce and that the wages would be high. I hope the crops turn out good.

I saw Arnold Code today and expect to see Jimmy Leeks tomorrow. So [?] Sam Hughes is in Eng. I suppose he will be over to France befor very long. Our battalion get issued out with Lee [?] rifles today those who didn't have them; but quite a few of us had them as we picked them up after the last big scrap. They are certainly better than the [?] I heard they were forming a 4th Canadian Division but I don't think it is true as they need nearly all the men for reinforcements. I see by the [?] Press that Howard Stan [?] Helen [?] and Blanche Edward passed. I didn't know very many more of the [?] Well Frank this is about all the time.

From your loving brother
James
