Dear Eileen and Cecil,

I guess you will be wondering what has happened to me since I left Bramshott but we are very busy drilling this weather. It is raining this evening and the ground will be muddy again just as it was beginning to dry up. We were not drilling this afternoon so were getting ready for our leave but they had'nt the pass forms ready so we will have to till to-morrow George Money and I are going home to Leeds with Arthur. Mae is going to Wales to visit friends and Leslie is going into London to visit relations. I guess we will stay in London for a day or two as everybody says that we had better [?]. We all [?] with new boots the other day. I got a new pair to-day but they were a little tight and I gave them to the shoemaker to stretch them.

We were rather disappointed when they told us that we were not going as we had allow kilts and our buttons all shined. We had our blankets all stored and when we found out we had to go and bring allow blankets and equipment out. I wrote a letter to Motherthe other day and forgot to date it. I wrote it on the 8th I guess I caught the last boat. The Canadian Mail goes twice a week from here on Wednesday morning and Friday morning. How is Miss ([?]) getting along? Tell her I will drop her a line a soon as I get away on my leave. Are you through [?] yet. I suppose it will be getting rather chilly these morning [?] to school. It is not very cold here but rather damp. It is not very cold in the shack as we have plenty of blankets. There generally is a concert every evening but I have not been to any yet. We are getting pretty good food here and lots of bread and butter. We get all the Jam we can eat and have pudding everyday for dinner.

Well I have to mail this before the Y.M.C.A closes.

With love to all.
From you loving brother,
JH Fargey
