Sun. evening

Dear Mother.

As usual there isn't much news to tell. Received the pyjamas you sent me - wish they had arrived a few days sooner but I will still be able to use them as the others I bought weren't so good and will probably last me a couple of months just. Thanks a lot. I hadn't even thought of my birthday being so close - just two weeks from tomorrow and I'll be nineteen.

I don't know anything more about our leave, except that if we get it, it will probably be around the beginning of June. This course doesn't look so good as it did at the beginning. Its not that its hard but I can't put any interest in my work like I used to. I have no ambition whatsoever and am just wondering were its all going to end.

Is Earnest Watterud in Kelvington yet? Have they heard any more about Ted? I see Herb Hall here quite a bit. He has never recognized me and I think the acquaintance will remain the same. It has been terrifficly hot here the last couple days - and the mosquitoes are making there appearance as usual. We walked down to the lake last night to get cooled off. Its only 2 miles from here and is quite large. We do all our air gunnery over it and some of our bombing.

They had a small flying accident here the other night. One ship had to come in with the undercart up. Nobody was hurt but it bashed the plane up a bit.

Well Mom this seems like a very short letter but I'm absolutely out of news. I'm going to a show called "Air Force".

Love,
George
