Thurs. Evening

Dear Mom,

Well I'm finally out of the hospital after spending twelve days in it. I got out this morning at 11.30 and had quite a time getting straightened out. As I had only spent a week in the training wing I am now in a different flight although I still sleep with the same bunch of pals - or at least close to them.

I received a letter from Mrs. Palmer while I was in the hospital - did you send her my address? I meant to send it to you but I have mislaid it. I believe she was trying to flatter me so I would chum up with Jack who is coming here Sep. 8th. I will try and look him up after he gets here.

Well mom there isn't very much to say as I haven't been around. It was very monotonous (or something like that) in the hospital and I hope I won't have to go back. I received all your letters and I got one from my loving sister today.

I am really proud of my friends and it was surprising to see how glad they were that I was out. They even sent me cig., oranges etc. while I was in the hospital. Jack Lloyd told me before I went in that he would write you. Before the bad luck struck me we used to go bowling, to shows etc. together. My first pay day was two weeks ago today and I got $15.00. The first thing I bought was a $7.00 pair of oxfords. You will notice I am in a hurry but there is C.O. inspection tomorrow and I have to get all dolled up for that. I still have to write Dad & Mrs. Palmer yet tonight so till the next time, so-long.

George.
